Titumir College students block Mohakhali rail crossing

Students of Titumir College have blocked the Mohakhali rail crossing, demanding the institution be converted into a university, disrupting both road and rail communication.

The protest began around 3:30pm on Monday, when students blocked the Mohakhali railway track, halting the Upakul Express train bound for Noakhali from Dhaka.

Earlier in the day, around 12:30pm, students had blocked the Mohakhali-Gulshan road in front of Titumir College, causing severe traffic congestion.

Later, at around 3pm, a group of demonstrators marched from the college, passing through Mohakhali Amtoli, before occupying the railway track at the Mohakhali rail crossing.
